Job Summary:

The Over the road FREIGHT Driver will be responsible for safely transporting freight across long distances, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining a high standard of vehicle operation. This role requires driving long hours, staying on the road for extended periods, and being prepared to manage various logistical and operational tasks along the way. Our freight drivers can expect to be on the road Monday – Friday and home on weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a commercial truck to transport goods over long distances across state lines or nationally.
  • Ensure cargo is secured properly and safely before departure and during transit.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations, including hours of service (HOS) rules.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel usage, and other records as required by the company and federal regulations.
  • Communicate with dispatchers, managers, and customers to update on delivery schedules and any delays.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the truck (i.e., tire checks, oil changes, etc.).
  • Ensure on-time and safe delivery of goods to customers, making adjustments as needed to handle unforeseen challenges.
  • Handle paperwork such as delivery receipts, bills of lading, and other shipping documents.
